GUIDELINES FOR FEMALE MODELS

These guidelines apply to general fitness or running shoots.  For soccer, tennis, martial arts etc, wear the clothing appropriate to that sport.

CLOTHING

Choose sports/fitness clothes that are fitted.  Loose clothing will flap around you as you move and may end up in unfortunate positions, ruining good shots.  There’s a lot to get right in an action shot... you don’t want to complicate things with clothing that moves on you.

Shorts and capris are best, full length leggings are ok but avoid strong patterns.

Bring 2-3 different outfits.


SHOES

You need proper running shoes, not leisure sneakers.  Avoid completely white or completely black shoes -- a little colour works better in pictures.  They should not be brand new -- if they are a bit worn it shows you’re serious about your sport.

Bring 2-3 different pairs.


HAIR AND MAKE-UP

We’re going for a very natural look, so avoid heavy make-up.  Cover any spots (I can remove some blemishes in retouching), but otherwise apply only the kind of make-up you would wear to the gym.

Hair can be tied back or loose.  Loose hair may ruin a few shots by getting in your face, but it can also really emphasise movement.  We can try shots with both.
